Building great products through a clear process and real collaboration.

Helping teams move fast and deliver

I design digital products for ambitious teams and founders who want to move fast and build things that matter. Based in Sydney, I help tech companies and startups turn ideas into valuable, usable products, without the usual friction.

My approach is practical and momentum-driven. I keep projects organized and transparent, sharing progress with video walkthroughs and keeping everyone aligned, no endless meetings required. Open, honest communication and the free sharing of knowledge help teams move forward together.

I bring structure to ambiguity, helping teams find clarity and stay accountable. With the right tools, templates, and shared processes, I focus on systems that keep work smooth, collaborative, and impactful.

How I work with teams

The best products are built when everyone’s ideas are valued and the team collaborates closely. At Zendesk, I led the design of Action Builder, a workflow automation tool that went from concept to launch in just 77 days. At Google, I helped create a new minimal phone experience for Android. Achievements like these are only possible through trusting partnerships with PMs, engineers, and other stakeholders.

My design philosophy is simple: always start by making sure we’re solving the right problem for the right reasons. I ask why we’re tackling a challenge and what makes it the top priority now. My focus is on delivering the right solution in the right way, working within the constraints of each project.

Principles for great teamwork

Openness, kindness, and real collaboration are the foundations of great teams. The best work happens when everyone focuses on shared goals, not individual credit. I love working with designers and engineers who openly share ideas and support each other.

I keep the design process clear and inclusive, making sure everyone is informed and involved. I share work early and often, using walkthrough videos, simple docs, and open design files, so feedback is easy and progress is visible to all.

Above all, I value kindness and integrity. I aim to create a safe space for sharing ideas and always pitch in where needed. When disagreements arise, I address them honestly to find the best outcome for the team.

Jess’ ability to meticulously plan and effectively communicate her strategies is impressive. Her innovative use of the Miro board to map out our triple diamond process with corresponding timelines and activities sets a new standard in our design approach. I truly admire her courage to assertively manage expectations and emphasize the importance of adhering to a robust design process, despite challenging timelines.

Leadership through support, challenge, and action

I believe leadership is about creating the conditions for people to do their best work. That means support when it’s needed, challenge when it matters, and a steady push toward action. I hold a high bar, but I don’t believe in throwing people in the deep end without backup. Great work comes from high standards paired with trust, honest feedback, and real guidance. To me, leadership isn’t about control; it’s about setting direction, clearing roadblocks, and helping others grow along the way.

Outside of work

Outside of work, I spend my time on side projects, working out, exploring new neighborhoods, trying cafes, cooking, and taking photos. I also run a weekly publication called Everyday UX, where I share practical advice, creative ideas, and tools to help designers grow their mindset and skills.
